An agency built on fair terms

Explainer has been covered by a collective agreement since 2025

For us, being an agency with a collective agreement is a given – but unfortunately, it is still uncommon in our industry.

So why should you have a collective agreement? And what does it mean for our employees and our clients?

What is a collective agreement?

A collective agreement is an agreement between employers and trade unions that regulates employees’ terms and conditions. It covers, among other things, salary, vacation and working hours, sickness insurance, and occupational pension.

In short, a collective agreement ensures that both employees and employers follow agreed standards, creating a clear and reliable framework.

Explainer is a member of Almega and is covered by the MIA White-Collar Agreement through Medieföretagen and Unionen.

Three advantages of being an agency with a collective agreement

1. Security in a changing industry
The agency industry can be uncertain. With a collective agreement, our employees know exactly what terms apply – from vacation to parental leave.

DetThis creates a sense of security that agencies without a collective agreement often lack. Collective agreements provide a better working environment for everyone.

2. Clients value fair conditions
Being covered by a collective agreement shows that we take responsibility for our employees. Many organizations require agencies to have a collective agreement, especially in public procurement and larger partnerships.

3. We want to raise the industry standard
Collective agreements should be the standard for agencies, and we want to lead the way. By showing that it is possible to be a creative agency with fair conditions, we hope to inspire more to do the same.
